Sarasota Audubon Nature Center

To request a personal tour from a naturalist, please contact Lisa Sykes at (585) 315-7809.

Visiting Sarasota Audubon Society is easy because we are located at a county park, Celery Fields, which is open to the public. The Nature Center, operated by Sarasota Audubon Society, is open Daily from 9AM to Noon from October 1st to May 31st, and until 3 PM on Saturday and Sunday from mid-January through mid-April. Travel writers and their guests can request a personal tour from a naturalist. You would need to arrange a bird walk prior to their visit. Otherwise, you are free to enjoy the Celery Fields on their own.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Downtown Sarasota campus
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens provides 45 acres of bayfront sanctuaries connecting people with air plants of the world, native nature, and our regional history. Established by forward-thinking women of their time, Selby Gardens is composed of the 15-acre Downtown Sarasota campus and the 30-acre Historic Spanish Point campus in the Osprey area of Sarasota County, Florida. The Downtown Sarasota campus on Sarasota Bay is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads, and ferns, and other tropical plants. The Historic Spanish Point campus, located less than 10 miles south along Little Sarasota Bay, is one of the largest waterfront preserves showcasing native Florida plants and active archaeology that is interpreted for and open to the public. Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe

Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) was founded in December 1999 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to produce professional theatre that promotes and celebrates African American history and experience, engages a broad base of patrons and audiences, supports the development of a dynamic group of aspiring artists and builds self-esteem in youth of color.

Our mainstage season runs from October through May. Our productions include original musicals created at WBTT such as Ruby and Soul Crooners, Broadway musicals such as Dreamgirls and Once on This Island, and thought-provoking dramas such as Fences and A Soldier’s Play. Our 2025-2026 season includes Purlie (Oct 8 - Nov 9, 2025), Langston Hughes' Black Nativity (Nov 20 - Dec 21, 2025), Paradise Blue (Jan 7 - Feb 8, 2026), How I Got Over - A Gospel Revue (Feb 18 - Mar 29, 2026) and Lies, Spells and Old Wives Tales (Apr 8 - May 17, 2026).
